E.W. Rhodes High School
The
vision of the Young Women's Leadership School at Rhodes (TYWLS) is to prepare
young women for success in college, careers, and community activism. This unique
single-sex high school was established to nurture the intellectual curiosity and
creativity of young women and to address their developmental needs. TYWLS offers
a dynamic, participatory learning environment with an emphasis placed on the
disciplines of math, science and technology. The school strives to work with
families to cultivate a sense of community, responsibility and ethical
principles of behavior.

FitzSimons High School
The
Young Men's Leadership School at FitzSimons is the first and only all male
single-sex neighborhood public school in Philadelphia. The school is designed as
a leadership school and its academic goals include providing the resources
required to ensure students of all academic levels are challenged to perform to
the best of their ability. TYMLS offers students a number of academic
institutes, all of which host a rigorous college preparatory curriculum. Young
men can choose from Urban Education Institute, Academy of Finance Institute,
Construction/Electrical Institute, and an online Virtual Enterprise Institute.

George W. Pepper Middle School
The vision of the George W. Pepper Middle School
is to transform non-achieving students into advanced students by supporting and
guiding excellence in academic and social development. Pepper creates a positive
learning environment by offering rigorous academic instruction paired with
special programs such as ISIS, Power Hour, GREAT, Fast Forward, Read 180, DARE
and CADE. Pepper encourages strong parent involvement in school activities to
help students as they embark on their path to becoming positive, productive
citizens with the academic foundation and confidence needed to achieve their

Mary McLeod Bethune Academy
The goal of the Mary McLeod Bethune Academy is to
have all students achieve proficiency on state reading and math exams. The
school uses research-based instructional programs to support high student
academic achievement. Bethune has ongoing partnerships with Temple University
Hospital and the National Council of Negro Women to provide ongoing support to
parents and students. The school also offers extended academic tutoring and
extra-curricular activities.

Anna B. Pratt Academy
The Anna B. Pratt Academy is a school where every
child gains the knowledge to go to college. The school is a professional
learning community where staff members collaborate, reflect, adapt and focus
their efforts to increase student achievement. Differentiated teaching and
learning are used to target student and staff needs. Resources and programs such
as extended day, extracurricular activities, computer and science labs, and a
health readiness program for kindergarten students provide additional support
for student achievement.

The vision of the Richard R. Wright Academy is to
plant the seeds of success to transform and cultivate young lives. The school
implements a consistent research-based instructional program that has enabled
their students to achieve federal Adequate Yearly Progress goals for the past
two years. The school has participated with the Eagles Youth Partnership and the
School District of Philadelphia on a number of projects including a playground
build and a mural that have helped to create a learning community in which

Southwest Leadership Academy Charter
School
Southwest Leadership Academy (SLA) is a K-8
public charter school opening in Fall 2007. SLA will provide parents with
the choice of a rigorous, high-quality and safe learning environment for
their children. Through highly trained and motivated teachers, SLA will
offer students a standards-based, research proven curriculum focusing on
core subjects that will create a strong foundation for lifelong learning.
SLA's goal is to educate and encourage students by showing them their innate
importance and possibility through leadership and character development,
service-learning, civic engagement, moral skill building and career
education. Additionally, our single-gender instructional approach is modeled
